Working with Blue Mountain RAM Work Records

Here are some tidbits about working with Blue Mountain RAM’s Work Records:

  • Work records can be archived and unarchived, deleted and restored; however, the histories of Standards cannot be archived nor deleted.  These actions are recorded in the work record’s audit trail.
(Right-click records in a query; use query toolbar buttons: Show Deleted Records; Show Archived Records)
  • Work records can be automatically batch generated on a regular schedule to save time and human effort.
FIRST: System Configuration: Sites>YourSite>DatasetGroups>YourDatasetGroup>Datasets>YourDataset>Settings>Dataset Options>Batch Work Generation section. Refer to Administrator Manual.
SECOND: Create SQL Server Agent Job to schedule & run Batch Work Generation as configured in System Configuration. Refer to BMRAM Installation Manual.
  • Work records can document parts planned for the job and parts consumed (Inventory).
(Work record’s menubar: VIEW> Parts… Refer to User Manual)
  • Work records can document labor planned for the job and labor utilized (Craft Codes).
(Work record’s menubar: VIEW> Labor… Refer to User Manual)
  • Work records can document assets involved in the performance of the job (Used Assets).
(Work record’s menubar: VIEW> Used Assets… Refer to User Manual)
  • Individual Work records can directly run reports.
(Work record’s menubar: REPORTS> chosen titles appear. Go To > Reports (enable ‘Show As Quick
Report’ on chosen report titles. To be compatible, report titles must yield the same record type as the record type listing the report. Refer to User Manual)
  • You can configure AutoFail conditions for calibration work records.
(System Configuration: Sites>YourSite>DatasetGroups>YourDatasetGroup>Datasets>YourDataset>Settings, Dataset Options, Measurement Data section. Refer to Administrator Manual)
  • Work records can display a custom Data Tree of Failure Class, Problem, Cause, and Remedy.
(System Configuration: Sites>YourSite>Data Trees. Refer to Administrator Manual)
  • New work records can automatically receive data from their parent asset and/or event.(System Configuration: Sites>YourSite>DatasetGroups>YourDatasetGroup>Form Setup>Work>Linked Fields. Refer to Administrator Manual)
  • Work records can hold Work Plan Templates which provide/document detailed steps for those complex jobs that you feel require it. Steps can specify criteria to be met in order to qualify as successful, enforce completion or Pass/Fail designation, and can collect worker sign-offs per step.
(Work record’s menubar: VIEW> Work Plans… Refer to User Manual)
  • Work record fields can be configured as triggers to send notifications. For example, set up the Pass/Fail field to send a Notification that the asset failed, when “Fail” is saved in the Pass/Fail field.
(System Configuration: Sites>YourSite>DatasetGroups>YourDatasetGroup>Rules>Work. Refer to Administrator Manual)
