A Peek Inside Santa’s Workshop

This holiday season, we were able to give Santa a helping hand. Blue Mountain employees had the opportunity to experience a day in an elf’s shoes by wrapping presents, sorting toys, and unloading trucks at the Centre County Toys for Tots corporate pick-up. The Nittany Leathemeck Toys for Tots program had over 1,000 volunteers and over 10,000 gifts this season.

I attended this amazing event myself and I can say that this experience was everything I had imagined it to be and more. While wrapping toys alongside my fellow elves we shared wrapping tips, holiday stories, and plenty of laughs. One point of the day that I vividly remember was when I first heard a faint sound of music in the distance. As the song got louder, I realized volunteers were singing Christmas carols. Next thing I knew, everyone around me was sharing in the cheer by singing Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer. The day turned out to be just what one could imagine of the North Pole. The only thing missing was the snow!

We are grateful to all of the volunteers and the dedicated foundation for making children’s wishes come true. Without all of their hard work and spirit, spreading joy and hope to local communities would not be possible.

Be sure to stay tuned on our next upcoming Winter Community Caring Activity!
